Ash Tree Boat Club is more than just boating. Our year-round social events bring members together in relaxed, welcoming ways — whether moored up, ashore, or cruising for the day. From themed evenings to day trips on the canal, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
🛥️ Organised Boat Trips
Throughout the year, the club arranges pre-booked day trips aboard passenger boats, giving members the chance to enjoy the waterways without needing their own boat. These relaxing, fully planned outings are a great way to explore new stretches of canal, visit local landmarks, or simply enjoy a scenic cruise with fellow members.
Everything is taken care of, so all you need to do is book your spot and come along for a great day out on the water.
🍽️ Themed Food Days
Our Themed Food Days are a delicious way to bring members together for a relaxed, sociable afternoon, each one with its own unique twist! Whether it’s a Cheese & Wine Day, a European food celebration, or a fun beach-themed gathering, these events are all about sharing great food and even better company.
Members are encouraged to bring along dishes, snacks, or drinks that match the theme — homemade favourites, shop-bought treats, or something a little different. Tables are often set up buffet-style so everyone can try a little bit of everything, and there's always room for picnic blankets, deck chairs, and a few good laughs.
Held during the day, these events are laid-back, family-friendly, and full of flavour. They’re the perfect excuse to spend time with fellow members, enjoy some sunshine (when we get it!), and try something new.
🎳 Skittles Nights
A fun-filled evening for members, families, and friends! Our skittles nights are all about friendly competition, laughter, and spending time together. Whether you're aiming for a strike or just cheering from the sidelines, everyone’s welcome — it’s a great way to socialise and enjoy a relaxed night out with the club community.
📸 Photography Competition
Open to all ages and skill levels, our annual photography competition invites members to capture unique moments based on a different theme each year. From life on the waterways to seasonal scenes or quirky canal finds, there’s always a new creative challenge — and prizes to be won!
🌰 Conker Competition
A nostalgic favourite that brings out the playful side in all of us, not just the kids! Our annual Conker Competition is a light-hearted but fiercely contested event that draws a great crowd every autumn. Whether you’re a seasoned conker champion or just in it for the fun, it’s a brilliant way to enjoy a bit of old-school rivalry. Expect laughter, friendly banter, and a surprisingly competitive atmosphere!

Our themed social evenings are a brilliant chance to unwind, have fun, and enjoy the livelier side of club life. From quiz nights and games evenings to fancy dress parties, music nights, and seasonal celebrations, each event brings something unique — but all are filled with warmth, laughter, and great company.
Whether you're dressing up, joining a team, or simply soaking in the atmosphere, these nights are always entertaining. With music, prizes, and plenty of humour, it’s the perfect excuse to bring friends and family along and make some unforgettable memories.
💃 Annual Dinner Dance
The highlight of our social calendar, the Annual Dinner Dance is a special evening where we come together to celebrate the year gone by. It’s a chance to dress up, enjoy a delicious meal, and spend the night dancing, laughing, and reminiscing with fellow members, family, and friends.
Held at a carefully chosen venue, the night features great food, lively music, and a welcoming atmosphere. We also take this opportunity to recognise achievements, present awards, and raise a glass to everything that makes our club community so unique.
Whether you’ve been with us all season or just joined, this event is the perfect way to round off the year in style.
